High Committee for the Rehabilitation of Atbara Airport Holds Its Regular Meeting

The High Committee for the Rehabilitation of Atbara Airport held its regular meeting today, chaired by Engineer Salah Ali Karkaba, Minister of Production and Economic Resources and Chairman of the Committee, at the Ministry of Infrastructure hall in Atbara. The meeting was attended by Mr. Othman Mohamed Othman, Secretary-General of the Government, Mr. Osama Al-Libib, Executive Director of Atbara Locality, and Mr. Abdul Wahab Ahmed, Director of Atbara Airport. The committee reviewed the progress of the modernization and rehabilitation operations and ensuring the compliance with the required specifications to upgrade the airport to an international airport capable of accommodating all types of aircraft with varying loads and sizes. The committee praised the support from all sectors, enabling the committee to fulfill its role, confirming that all engineering operations are nearing completion, with some complementary works ongoing. The committee also called on all parties that pledged donations to fulfill their commitments to complete all operations related to the establishment of Atbara International Airport.
