Floods Cut Off Port Sudan Road

On Saturday, floods cut off the national road leading to Port Sudan in the area between Aqaba and Jebeit in the Red Sea state. Bloggers reported that the cutting off of the national road in the Red Sea state led to the accumulation of vehicles and travel buses in the area where the road was cut off. The Red Sea state in eastern Sudan witnessed heavy rains throughout the night, causing floods that cut off several main roads. Citizens reported to “Ultra Sudan” that the floods swept through the Marafeet area since Friday, isolating villages in the southern part of the Red Sea state. The flooding of the Khor Baraka stream also isolated the Aqiq locality from the rest of the Red Sea state, which is experiencing an exceptional rainy season amidst the spread of seasonal diseases.
