Sudan Events – Agencies
The Pakistani military announced that ten of its soldiers were killed in southwest Pakistan on Monday while confronting “cowardly terrorist acts,” following the killing of dozens of civilians in coordinated attacks overnight. The military stated in a release, “During the operations, fourteen brave sons of the nation sacrificed their lives… they are ten soldiers from the security forces and four individuals from law enforcement agencies,” which are auxiliary groups to the military deployed in the area. The security forces killed 21 militants in Balochistan after the attack on a bus. Pakistani officials reported today that at least 51 people were killed in attacks by separatist militants on police stations, railway lines, and vehicles on highways in the southwestern province of Balochistan. These attacks are the widest in scope in years as part of an ethnic rebellion waged by militants for decades demanding the region’s separation from Pakistan. The Baloch Liberation Army, the most active separatist armed group in the area, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
