Agriculture: FAO Supported Small Farmers with Seeds  

Sudan Events – Follow-ups  
On Wednesday, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Abu Bakr Omar Al-Bushra, met with the Assistant Director-General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Abdel Hakim Al-Waer.
Al-Bushra praised FAO for its continuous support of the agricultural sector and expressed his satisfaction with the aid provided, especially in the area of seeds for small farmers, which has resulted in over 20,000 tons of grain being distributed to the states. He confirmed the ministry’s commitment to continuing cooperation, especially in the upcoming winter season.
He extended his thanks and appreciation to the FAO team in Sudan for their cooperation and responsibility.
For his part, the Assistant Director-General of FAO thanked the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the opportunity to visit Sudan to strengthen the country’s FAO office by identifying priorities, transforming them into programs and projects, and mobilizing financial resources from donors to implement them.
