Jibril Sets Conditions for Extending the Opening of Adre Border Crossing

Sudan Events – Follow-ups
On Tuesday, the Minister of Finance and leader of the Justice and Equality Movement, Jibril Ibrahim, set two conditions for renewing the government’s extension of the Adre border crossing, which links Sudan and Chad, to allow the entry of humanitarian aid. In a tweet on the X platform, Jibril stated that the Adre crossing should not be extended unless two main preconditions are met. The conditions are the presence of a Sudanese team from the Customs Police, the Standards and Metrology Authority, and the General Intelligence Service on both sides of the crossing, with adequate international protection for the team, and the availability of X-ray scanning equipment to facilitate the inspection of goods crossing the border.
