UN Official Meets French Foreign Minister on Sudan-Chad Border

The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, announced that he met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot at the border between Chad and Sudan in Adré. The UN official described the Adré crossing as “a lifeline for the aid that people in Sudan desperately need.”
Fletcher emphasized in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that “with humanitarian funding reaching critical levels, the international community must now double its efforts.”
Earlier, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs arrived in N’Djamena, the capital of Chad, where he met with Prime Minister Alamai Halina and other senior officials.
According to UN spokesperson Farhan Haq, Fletcher discussed the humanitarian situation in Chad and the ongoing impact of the continuous flow of refugees fleeing the conflicts in Sudan and other neighboring countries.
