Hamas released three Israeli hostages on Saturday as part of the fourth exchange under the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian movement and Israel. In return, Israel is expected to release 183 Palestinian detainees from its prisons.
Hamas handed over dual French-Israeli national Ofer Calderon, Israeli citizen Yardin Bibas, and dual American-Israeli citizen Keith Siegel in two separate operations.
A live broadcast showed Hamas handing over Siegel, the last of the three hostages, to the Red Cross at Gaza’s port. This exchange marks the latest stage in the truce aimed at ending the 15-month-long war in Gaza.
The Israeli military confirmed in a statement on Saturday that it had received Siegel, while Hamas stated that the exchange deal involves the release of 183 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
