Tel Rejects Tottenham Move, Prefers to Stay at Bayern

Sudan Events – Agencies

German media reports suggest that Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel has rejected a move to Tottenham Hotspur, as he prefers to stay at Bayern at least until the end of the season.

According to The Athletic, the 19-year-old is not looking to leave before the transfer window closes on Monday and will reassess his situation in the summer.

Meanwhile, ESPN reported that Tel turned down Tottenham’s offer due to interest from other English clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Aston Villa.

Reports indicate that Tottenham and Bayern had already reached an agreement on the transfer, with Spurs offering €60 million before Tel changed his mind.

Tel joined Bayern from Rennes in 2021 for €20 million and is under contract until 2029, though he has struggled for playing time. He reportedly requested a move to get more minutes elsewhere.

Bayern Munich board member for sporting affairs, Max Eberl, described Tel as a “highly sought-after player,” adding that the club is working to find the best solution for all parties.
