Sudan Events – Agencies
At least three people were killed in a fire that broke out at a nursing home near Paris on Saturday, according to the city’s mayor.
Eight others were injured in the fire, which occurred at a care facility in the town of Beaumont-sur-Oise.
“This is a serious incident for our town,” said Mayor Michel Lacoux.
Lacoux added that the fire is now under control at the facility, which houses 75 elderly residents.
In an interview with BFM TV, he suggested that the fire likely started in the laundry room before spreading to part of the building’s third floor.
Adrien Bonin-Senapian, spokesperson for the French Civil Protection Agency, stated that the fire was extinguished after the deployment of 140 firefighters to the scene.
