Khartoum – Sudan Events
The Khartoum State Water Authority announced that militia snipers opened fire on a team of engineers from the authority while they were attempting to assess the damage to the vital Bahri Water Station.
In a press release on Tuesday, the authority stated that the team had been dispatched to evaluate the extent of the damage and prepare a preliminary report for the station’s repair. However, they were forced to withdraw for their safety after being targeted by gunfire from the Kuwaiti Building in Khartoum.
The authority noted that the attack follows a series of systematic acts of sabotage against the Bahri Water Station, one of the oldest and largest water facilities in Khartoum State. It confirmed that the vandalism had caused severe damage to electrical transformers, cables, pumps, laboratory equipment, and water basins, leading to the station’s shutdown and a water outage affecting large areas of Khartoum, East Nile, and Bahri.
