The Acting Governor of South Darfur, Bashir Mursal Hassaballah, issued a decision to suspend hundreds of employees who violated his directive and continued to collaborate with the rebel militia in the state.
In a Facebook post, the governor stated, “After the militia formed a so-called civil administration, we suspended around 300 employees out of a total of more than 31,000 civil service workers in South Darfur, in preparation for their prosecution for collaborating with the militia and participating in its crimes.”
He added, “Monitoring and follow-up operations will continue, and any employee found to be collaborating will be suspended.”
