North Korea: Our Nuclear Weapons Are for Actual Combat, Not Negotiation

North Korea has declared that its nuclear weapons are not a bargaining chip but are meant for actual combat.

In a statement on Saturday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) denounced recent comments from NATO and European Union officials who refused to recognize North Korea as a nuclear power.

KCNA also criticized calls for North Korea to dismantle its nuclear weapons program completely, verifiably, and irreversibly, calling such demands “ridiculous.”

The agency reiterated that the regime’s nuclear arsenal is not something to be “declared” or used as a “bargaining chip” but is intended for actual combat use against hostile forces that threaten the nation’s sovereignty and the safety of its people.

Pyongyang maintains its stance that denuclearization cannot be a topic of negotiation if it resumes dialogue with Washington.
