Khartoum: Petroleum Products Available and Flowing Normally

Khartoum State announced that it has taken measures to secure the fuel needs of vital sectors, while confirming the availability and normal flow of petroleum products within the state.

Speaking to “Ultra Sudan,” Khartoum State spokesperson Al-Tayeb Saad Al-Din said: “Petroleum products are currently available and flowing normally. Storage facilities are operating even on holidays, in accordance with the decision of the Sudanese Oil Authority.” He added that the state has nonetheless taken steps to secure the needs of critical sectors.

He noted that “the federal government is currently operating from the Red Sea, but even before the Port Sudan attack, some ministries had begun rehabilitating their premises, and some have already resumed operations in Khartoum State.”

Regarding citizens returning to Khartoum after the continued targeting of Port Sudan, Al-Tayeb said: “Sudan is open to its citizens, and there is constant communication and movement between the states, which ultimately depends on individual judgment.”

He added that “the return to Khartoum is unrelated to the events in Port Sudan; it began intensively after most areas of Khartoum were cleared of the rebel militia and has continued to grow.” He pointed out that while there are no precise statistics on the number of returnees due to the multiple points of entry, it is safe to say the numbers are significant.
