Minister of Culture and Information and official government spokesperson, Khalid Al-Eyasir, stated that the criminal militia of the Dagalo family, supported by the Abu Dhabi government, targeted El-Obeid Prison and the city’s hospital on Saturday morning using drones. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 20 inmates and the injury of 50 others, all of whom were civilians.
In a tweet, he added: “What happened at El-Obeid Prison is a full-fledged war crime that adds to the militia’s and its backers’ long record of violations against Sudanese civilians.”
Al-Eyasir strongly condemned the terrorist act in the harshest terms.
