Directive to Delete Inactive Companies

Acting Minister of Justice and Undersecretary Howaida Ali Awad Al-Karim instructed the Registrar of Companies to revise the commercial data registry and delete any companies that have not rectified their legal status or have not commenced actual operations. This move is in accordance with Article (255) of the Companies Act of 2015, amended in 2025.

The Ministry of Justice stated that this step aims to ensure the legality of commercial entities registered in the commercial registry and to guarantee their full compliance with legal regulations governing company activities.

The Ministry emphasized that this measure seeks to tighten control over non-compliant companies and to purge the registry of inactive or fictitious entities.

It confirmed that the companies targeted are those that have been registered but have not carried out any actual business activities or failed to complete the legal status adjustment procedures.

The Ministry believes that revising the commercial registry will help build trust in Sudan’s business sector by ensuring that registered companies are legitimate and operational.
