
The Minister of Interior, Police General Babiker Samra Mustafa Ali, accompanied by Police General and Human Rights Advocate Mohamed Ibrahim Awad (Deputy Director General and Inspector General), Police General and Human Rights Advocate Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Shameen (Head of the Administrative Affairs Authority and Supervisor of Khartoum State), and Police General and Human Rights Advocate Al-Taher Ali Mohamed Al-Balloula (Head of the Guidance and Services Authority), conducted an inspection tour.
They were received by Police General Yasser Omar Abu Zaid, Director General of the Prisons Forces, along with his assistants and the directors of national prison departments and facilities.
The Minister of Interior chaired the leadership meeting of the Prisons Forces and listened to a detailed briefing from the Director General, which covered the general status of the prisons and their affiliated correctional facilities, as well as ongoing efforts to improve prison conditions in accordance with international and local laws.
The Director General revealed that measures had been taken to recapture escaped inmates, confirming the success of these efforts in apprehending many of them.
According to the Police Press Office, the Minister of Interior praised the performance and resilience of the Prisons Forces in the face of challenges and their ability to maintain security within the prisons and correctional facilities. He also pledged to support the Prisons Forces by providing necessary resources and coordinating with international and regional organizations for specialized training of its personnel, enabling them to fully carry out their rehabilitative mission.
