
Dr. Wahbi Mohamed Mokhtar was sworn in as President of the Constitutional Court before General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan on Tuesday, in the presence of the representative of the Chief Justice and the Secretary-General of the Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Youssef.
In a press statement, Dr. Wahbi said the Constitutional Court is tasked with protecting the constitution, safeguarding freedoms and public rights, and monitoring the performance of legislative, executive, and judicial authorities. He added that the court’s work is purely legal, aiming to establish a balance between the country’s laws.
