
Khartoum State Governor Ahmed Osman Hamza held a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the resumption of village planning activities across the state and the legalization of old neighborhoods. The meeting was attended by the state government’s Secretary-General, El-Hadi Abdelsayed Ibrahim; Director General of the Ministry of Urban Planning, Eng. Wijdan Ibrahim Mustafa; Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Nawal Bashir; executive directors of the localities; and the Director General of Lands.
During the session, the Director General of the Ministry of Urban Planning presented the ministry’s plan, outlining technical and logistical requirements as well as a timetable for initiating work in targeted villages and neighborhoods across the state’s localities.
The governor instructed the Ministry of Finance to provide the necessary resources to implement the plan. He further directed that the process begin with public announcements detailing schedules and areas identified by field teams.
The meeting also addressed the need for a comprehensive study to support partial improvements of commercial streets in accordance with the law, starting with Karari locality before gradually expanding to other localities in the next phase.
