Guterres Envoy: Committed to Helping Sudan Overcome Challenges

Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris met on Sunday with Ramadan Lamamra, the Personal Envoy of UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

In a press briefing after the meeting, Lamamra said discussions focused on mobilizing efforts and fostering a collective vision. “We will spare no effort in bringing people together and uniting perspectives and initiatives toward a more stable and prosperous future,” he said.

Lamamra emphasized his personal commitment to support Sudan through its current challenges, underscoring the importance of collective action to build the “green future” aspired to by the Sudanese people and supported by the country’s international partners.

He expressed hope that the peace process would soon achieve tangible progress, adding: “We look forward to the day we can say we have fulfilled part of our duty to this brotherly people, who have given so much to others in times of hardship and are renowned for their generosity, dignity, and sacrifice for noble human values.”
