Burhan: Sudan Stands with Qatar Against This Conspiracy

Doha – Agencies

Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, condemned Israel’s “blatant and direct” attack on Doha, describing it as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of a sister Arab state and of international law and UN charters.

Addressing the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit in Doha on Monday, Burhan declared Sudan’s full solidarity with Qatar—its leadership, government, and people—against what he called a conspiracy.

He stressed that the aggression against Qatar sends a troubling message to the world, undermines efforts to end the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza, and weakens chances of achieving a ceasefire. He reaffirmed Sudan’s position that the only path to a just and lasting peace in the Middle East is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Burhan urged serious Arab, Islamic, and international action to restore justice and end double standards, which he said stem from flaws in the UN Security Council and international justice systems.
