Intense fighting continued Sunday between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in North Kordofan State.
Local sources told Sudan Tribune that heavy clashes erupted early in the day along the Omdurman–Bara export road near Jabra al-Sheikh, as the army sought to secure control over the strategic route linking Omdurman to Bara.
In the western approaches to El-Obeid, military sources said army artillery from the 5th Infantry Division heavily shelled RSF gatherings in Al-Ayara, about 15 kilometers west of the state capital. Army warplanes also bombed RSF positions in Al-Hamadi and Al-Dibibat.
