The United Nations Security Council will hold a regular meeting on Thursday to discuss developments in the Abyei region, as part of its ongoing monitoring of the file, particularly regarding security conditions and stability in the area.
According to sources cited by “Al-Muhaqqiq,” the meeting will review the work of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), as well as humanitarian issues and civilian protection.
UN representatives are expected to deliver their regular briefings during the session, including detailed reports on the security situation on the ground, tribal tensions, and military movements in the region, in addition to evaluating the performance of the UN mission and reviewing the progress of international forces.
