
Major General Yusuf Al-Nour Yusuf, Deputy Chief of Staff for Training in the Sudanese Alliance, sent reassurances that their forces are operating alongside the Sudanese Armed Forces on all fronts and are advancing strongly. He affirmed that morale remains high and that the forces are working toward the defeat of the Janjaweed.
In an interview with Al-Ahdath, Major General Yusuf called on the rebels to lay down their weapons and pursue peace in response to the appeal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. He added, “Whoever lays down their weapon will be welcomed, and we will not seek revenge against them.”
Yusuf stated that since the outbreak of the war, his forces had never remained neutral, considering that any attack on the armed forces constitutes an attack on the Sudanese people. He noted that the Sudanese Alliance participated in the liberation of areas including Al-Dinder, Al-Suki, Jabal Moya, Mayrno, Qali, Wad Al-Haddad, Al-Haj Abdullah, as well as Umm Al-Qura, Al-Khayari, Al-Shabarqa, eastern areas of Al Jazirah State, Al-Hasahisa, and Al-Kamlin, in addition to operations aimed at clearing remaining pockets of rebellion in . He also revealed that hundreds of fighters had been deployed in support of the “Al-Sayyad” military operation.
He further stated that following the liberation of , and in coordination with intelligence and security units, the forces recovered large quantities of looted property and arrested collaborators and criminal gangs referred to as the “Niggers” gangs.
Yusuf added that after the liberation of Wad Madani, the Sudanese Alliance rehabilitated several hospitals and doctors’ accommodations, launched medical convoys that benefited thousands of citizens, repaired roads in the city, distributed thousands of schoolbooks and school bags, and organized the “Karama Exhibition” to sell goods at reduced prices.
