Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, said in an interview with Middle East Eye that Sudan does not oppose establishing relations with the UAE, provided that it ceases its support for the Rapid Support Forces militia.
Al-Burhan stressed that Khartoum remains open to any relations founded on respect for Sudan’s sovereignty and non-interference in its internal affairs.
The statements come amid regional efforts and initiatives aimed at reducing tensions between Sudan and the UAE, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
