Sudan Launches National Digital Identity Project “Sudapas”

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications has launched the national digital identity project “Sudapas” in a strategic step aimed at building a secure and reliable national digital infrastructure. The project is being implemented through the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority and the National Electronic Authentication Authority, in partnership with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Civil Registry.

“Sudapas” is considered a major leap toward enabling citizens to securely and reliably access government and private-sector services, conduct electronic transactions, and use digital signatures. The initiative is expected to simplify procedures, improve efficiency, strengthen digital trust, and support Sudan’s digital economy.

The ministry affirmed that the project will enhance digital transformation efforts across government institutions, the banking sector, telecommunications, education, and healthcare by providing a digital identity system based on international best practices and standards in cybersecurity and digital services.

The launch ceremony was attended by a number of officials, members of the diplomatic corps, development partners, private-sector representatives, and national experts, underscoring the importance of building a modern digital ecosystem that supports the future of services and digital transformation in Sudan.
