Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority Affirms Sudan’s Sovereignty Over the “Sudapas” Platform and Protection of Citizens’ Data

The Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority has affirmed that the National Digital Identity Platform (Sudapas) was developed and is operated according to advanced technical, security, and institutional standards that place the protection of citizens’ data and digital sovereignty among its national priorities.

In a press statement, the Authority said that all digital identity data is subject to Sudanese digital sovereignty and the relevant national governance framework. It noted that encryption key management and digital certificates are administered through the National Authority for Digital Authentication (NADC) in accordance with approved security regulations.

The Authority explained that the system undergoes regular security reviews and testing to ensure readiness and continuously enhance cybersecurity protection. It emphasized that the platform is developed and operated by Sudanese professionals and experts specializing in cybersecurity and digital identity.

It added that Sudapas represents a strategic national project aimed at building digital trust, strengthening digital sovereignty, and enabling citizens to access digital services securely and reliably.

The Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority renewed its full commitment to protecting citizens’ data and continuing the development of the national digital ecosystem in line with best practices and recognized standards.
