Abdul Rahim Dagalo Acknowledges Militia Members’ Crimes Against Civilians

Abdul Rahim Dagalo, the deputy commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), has acknowledged that members and affiliates of the militia committed serious violations and crimes against unarmed civilians in conflict-affected areas.

This explicit admission lends further credence to international, United Nations, and local reports that have consistently documented systematic atrocities and violations against Sudanese civilians since the outbreak of the war.

In a television interview, Abdul Rahim Dagalo claimed that the militia’s leadership did not shield those responsible. Instead, he said, the individuals involved were arrested and subjected to immediate accountability measures. He added that those implicated in the crimes and violations had been placed in prisons and detention centers operated by the militia.
