Minawi: The Militia’s Plan to Empty North Darfur of Its Population Will Fail

Darfur Regional Governor Minni Arko Minawi accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of carrying out what he described as a “scheme aimed at emptying the land of its indigenous inhabitants” in North Darfur localities through forced displacement and the looting of property.

In a post published on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Minawi said: “Our people in the localities of North Darfur are suffering from forced displacement, property looting, and violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia.”

He added that the objective of these actions is to replace the original population with mercenaries and foreign nationals, referring to what he described as “the dream of establishing an emirate for the Dagalo family on our land.”

The regional governor asserted that this plan would fail, stressing that “this land has been watered by the blood of its people throughout history, and its sons and daughters have offered millions of martyrs in defense of their honor and homeland. It will never be an easy prize for anyone.”

He continued: “Anyone who believes that the dream of establishing an emirate for the Dagalo family on our land will succeed is mistaken. History will record that this dream was shattered against the steadfastness of the people of the land and their determination to uphold their rights.”

Minawi concluded his statement by saying: “Every project built on killing, displacement, and the denial of rights is destined to disappear, and time will be the judge between us.”
