Sudan’s Chargé d’Affaires in Berlin, Ambassador Idris Mohamed Ali, briefed the foreign ministries of Germany and Poland, as well as the diplomatic communities in both countries, on developments in Sudan following drone attacks launched from Ethiopian territory that targeted vital infrastructure, particularly power stations, and affected several cities.
During a meeting of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Berlin held on Tuesday morning, the ambassador provided an update on developments in Sudan. He explained that the country was facing comprehensive external aggression orchestrated by the state sponsoring the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia through the full financing of the war, the transfer of military equipment and weapons, the recruitment and deployment of mercenaries and foreign fighters, and the provision of political cover and support.
He added that the militia was merely a hired gun carrying out external aggression schemes aimed at undermining Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security, stability, people and resources.
Sudan’s ambassador affirmed that this external hostile plot had failed and been thwarted thanks to the courage, heroism and resilience of the Sudanese Armed Forces and supporting forces, as well as the backing of the Sudanese people.
He noted that national determination and resolve remained firmly directed towards completing the liberation of Sudanese territory from the militia and mercenaries, continuing reconstruction and rehabilitation of areas devastated by the external aggression, and ensuring the return of refugees and internally displaced persons to their cities and villages.
Ambassador Idris explained that Sudan had recently lodged a complaint with the UN Security Council and the African Union Peace and Security Council against Ethiopia over its latest aggression, describing it as a dangerous military escalation. He affirmed Sudan’s ability to protect and secure its territory and confront all hostile attempts.
During the meeting of Arab ambassadors in Berlin, Ambassador Idris Mohamed Ali also highlighted the supportive role played by Arab countries and the Arab League in backing Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security and stability.
