Pape Gueye scored the first goal and Lamine Kamara added a “double” in the 4th, 52nd and 86th minutes, as the Senegalese team snatched the first 3 points in the campaign to defend the title that it achieved in the last edition in 2022.
Gambia completed the match with 10 players after Ebo Adams was sent off in the eighth minute of stoppage time in the first half.
The second round of the group will witness an African summit that will be held next Friday between the teams of Senegal and Cameroon, while the Guinea team will play against Gambia in the same group.
