Barcelona has achieved its second-best unbeaten series of matches this season, since its coach, Xavi Hernandez, announced his departure from the Catalan club at the end of the current season.
Xavi announced that he would leave Barca at the end of this season, after losing the Spanish Super Cup title and bidding farewell to the Spanish Cup.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, Barcelona has played 5 matches – since Xavi’s decision – four in the Spanish League and one in the Champions League, without losing.
Barcelona collected 10 points out of a possible 12 in La Liga.
The newspaper pointed out that Barcelona’s best unbeaten series of matches, under the leadership of Xavi, was at the beginning of the season from last August 13, specifically in a 0-0 draw against Getafe, and until October 25 with a victory over Shakhtar (2-1) in the group stage of the Champions League.
Barcelona then achieved 10 victories (7 in La Liga and 3 in the Champions League) in addition to 3 draws in La Liga out of a total of 14 matches, after which it lost at home to its rival Real Madrid (2-1).
