Al-Burhan: The Path to Peace is the Implementation of the Jeddah declaration

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, emphasized that the path to peace or ending the war lies in implementing the Jeddah Agreement signed in May 2023.

In a speech marking the 70th anniversary of the army, Al-Burhan stressed that the people will only find them in positions that ensure their dignity and national pride, ready to sacrifice everything for this cause. He affirmed that they will not compromise or make concessions regarding the legitimate rights of the people to restore security and stability and to eliminate this treacherous aggression, no matter the cost. He added, “We will work relentlessly to celebrate the next army anniversary when your country has been cleansed of the filth of the Al-Dagalo militia and their allies.”

He said, “There will be no peace while the rebel militia occupies our homes, cities, and villages, besieging them and cutting off roads. There will be no cessation of operations without the withdrawal and exit of the last militia member from the cities and villages they have invaded and subjugated the residents.”

Al-Burhan affirmed their stand against the brutal foreign invasion, which is backed and directed by known international and regional circles, supported by a mercenary political group that has chosen to stand against the people, placing themselves among the darkest and most miserable pages of our national history, embellishing falsehood and openly siding with a terrorist militia that has no connection to the country or its people, whom they have killed, looted, and displaced, destroying their resources to seize power without mandate.
