UEFA Nations League: Nagelsmann Aims for Full Points

German football coach Julian Nagelsmann expressed his desire to secure full points in Germany’s upcoming UEFA Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Netherlands, despite the challenges posed by injuries within the squad.
Both Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz, along with Niklas Füllkrug, Robin Koch, and goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, were ruled out due to injuries, with Ter Stegen expected to miss several months due to a severe knee injury.
Nagelsmann remarked on Monday, while assembling the team in Herzogenrath: “We had to make last-minute changes to the squad due to injuries, but our goals remain unchanged.”
Germany will play Bosnia in Zenica on Friday, followed by a home match in Munich against the Netherlands three days later. Germany tops the group after a 5-0 win over Hungary and a 2-2 draw with the Netherlands in September.
Brentford’s Kevin Schade has been called up to replace Koch, while Jonathan Burkardt of Mainz, Jamie Leweling of Stuttgart, and Stuttgart forward Tim Kleindienst will step in for Havertz, Musiala, and Füllkrug, respectively.
Nagelsmann emphasized: “It’s unfortunate to be without key players who helped us in the European Championship this summer, but we look forward to seeing new faces in the squad and in training.”
