Minawi: I Refused Bribes from Militias and  its Sponsors

Sudan Events – Follow-up Reports
On Friday, the head of the Sudan Liberation Movement, Minni Arko Minawi, revealed that he had rejected bribes from the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and a sponsor to accept the Framework Agreement and side with the RSF in their fight against the Sudanese army.
According to Minawi, one of the offers involved dividing the army units in Darfur while keeping him as the governor of Darfur with wide powers and substantial funding.
In response to remarks made by Hemeti, Minawi, who also serves as the governor of Darfur, said, “My meeting in N’Djamena with your brother – referring to RSF Deputy Commander Abdel Rahim Dagalo – ended after I firmly rejected his offer, which involved splitting the army forces in Darfur while allowing me to remain governor with more powers and increased funding.”
He added, “I rejected this offer, so why would I accept a smaller amount from Port Sudan? Even if I were looking for money without patriotism.”
Minawi also disclosed that he had refused large sums of money offered to him in exchange for joining the Framework Agreement and cooperating with the RSF. He continued, “This offer was not from you or Port Sudan but directly from the sponsor, and you know well how I rejected it.”
Minawi further denied Hemeti’s claim that the Chadian president had requested not to attack the capital of North Darfur. He clarified that it was he who asked the Chadian president to convey to Hemeti not to extend the war to Darfur, not just to El-Fasher, noting that El-Fasher is not the only city in Darfur that hosts displaced persons camps, which are spread across all cities in Darfur.
