Official statistics: 4,882 killed in Khartoum since the outbreak of war

A health official in Khartoum State announced that the number of deaths due to the ongoing war since April 15, 2023, has reached 4,882 according to hospital statistics. The spokesperson for the Health Ministry in Khartoum, Mohamed Ibrahim, stated according to “Sudan Tribune” that the number of deaths that occurred in hospitals due to injuries was 1,628, while the number of deaths confirmed in hospitals reached 3,254. He confirmed that the number of injuries that reached hospitals was 32,167 cases.
He added that these statistics include only those recorded in hospitals and medical facilities that were operational since the outbreak of the war in both the public and private sectors and do not include deaths that did not reach hospitals. He mentioned that the number of deaths among health ministry staff was 24 who were killed inside hospitals while providing medical services to citizens such as the hospitals of Gari, Turk, Ban Jadeed, Bashir, and Jabal Al-Awliya, and Omdurman’s model hospital, along with 17 captives from medical staff.
