Launch of Corn Harvesting in Gezira Project

Governor of Gezira, Taher Ibrahim Al-Khair, inaugurated the start of corn harvesting in the Gezira Project, covering 400,000 acres with an expected yield of 12-20 bags per acre. The governor highlighted that local communities would not be deterred by conflicts and pledged the success of Gezira farmers in achieving self-sufficiency, refuting rumors of a looming famine in Sudan.
Agricultural Engineer Yasser Abdeljalil, head of the Managil sections, reported average yields of 14-20 bags per acre, crediting the governor and security committee’s support. Farmer Musaed Al-Taj from Al-Amara Village declared readiness to plant wheat and requested seeds, fertilizers, and diesel supplies.
