Inflation Rate Decrease in October

The Central Bureau of Statistics has revealed a decrease in the annual inflation rate for October. According to the bureau’s monthly report, the general inflation rate for October 2024 stood at 211.48%, down from 215.52% in September.
The annual inflation rate for the food and beverage category was 192.48%, compared to 195.86% in September. Conversely, inflation in imported goods rose to 148.79% from September’s 142.48%.
Among the states, the highest inflation was recorded in River Nile State at 495.21%, followed by Kassala at 429.71%, and Al-Qadarif at 397.71%. In contrast, Red Sea State registered a lower rate of 105.60%, with 105.98% in Khartoum and 195.06% in Al-Jazirah.
