The World Bank Funds a Health Project in Northern Sudan

Dr. Sati Hassan Sati, General Director of the Ministry of Health in Northern Sudan, participated in a video conference meeting organized by the Ministry’s Organizations Department with UNICEF, attended by a number of experts and specialists.
The meeting discussed the future of internationally supported Ministry projects through UNICEF, in addition to exploring ways to strengthen collaboration between the Ministry, international and regional organizations, and the global community.
Dr. Najwa Gamal Ibrahim, Director of the Organizations Department at the Ministry of Health in Northern Sudan, confirmed that the World Bank, through UNICEF, would implement the “Resilience Project” in the region. She noted that the project would proceed in two phases, providing support to 50 health centers in the state—25 in Dalgo locality and 25 in Al-Dabbah locality. The initiative will cover healthcare, education, nutrition, water services, environmental sanitation, and local community support.
The Director General of the Ministry of Health commended UNICEF’s ongoing support for the healthcare system, highlighting that the project would improve the quality of healthcare services, especially in health centers. The Ministry expressed its full cooperation to ensure the project’s success within the designated timeframe.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of inviting more international organizations and communities to support the state in implementing projects that benefit citizens.
