Russia Expresses Interest in Investing in Oil Blocks in Sudan

Russia has expressed interest in investing in Sudan’s oil exploration and production in Block 17 and the Red Sea blocks. On Thursday, Vladimir Kigin, a member of the ruling party’s Foreign Relations Committee (United Russia Party), met with Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Oil, Dr. Mohieddin Naeem Mohamed Said, in Moscow.
They discussed Russia’s entry into Sudan to invest in Block 17 and the Red Sea blocks.
On his part, the Minister of Energy and Oil emphasized Sudan’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Russia, particularly in the fields of oil and electricity.
The meeting was attended by Viktor Shmardanov, Chairman of the Russian-Sudanese Business Council, and Sudan’s Ambassador to Russia, Mohamed El-Ghazali.
