Sudan Events – Follow-ups
The Joint Force of the armed movements announced the seizure of a large shipment of military supplies supported by the UAE and intended for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The force also revealed the capture of travel documents for mercenaries from Colombia, along with the confiscation of combat vehicles and armored personnel carriers on the Sudanese border with Libya and Chad.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the Joint Force, Captain Ahmed Hussein Mustafa, said, “In a bold, targeted operation, the Joint Force of the armed struggle movements successfully intercepted a large military and logistical supply route heading to the RSF militias at the Sudanese-Libyan-Chadian border triangle.”
He added, “The seized supplies included advanced weapons, four-wheel-drive vehicles held by foreign mercenaries from Africa and South America, as well as the confiscation of 7 armored vehicles and 25 new four-wheel-drive vehicles.”
The Joint Force also seized large quantities of ammunition and heavy weapons from the UAE Armed Forces, including a significant number of “Kornet” anti-tank missiles that were en route to Sudan. In addition, foreign passports, bank cards, and family photos belonging to the mercenaries, including Colombian nationals, were discovered. It was revealed that their entry visas were issued through Al Maktoum International Airport in the UAE in October, according to the statement.
He added, “The entry of these weapons into Sudan, particularly into the Darfur region, represents a clear and blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1591 and 2736, which prohibit the sale or supply of weapons to the region. The Joint Force will submit all documents and investigation results to the relevant Sudanese authorities to address this serious development.”
The Joint Force emphasized in its statement that Sudan is facing major conspiracies from countries and entities seeking to control its resources by deploying international companies and cross-continental mercenaries to implement their dirty agendas, without any regard for international laws.
The Joint Force called on the international community to take urgent action to pressure countries that support the RSF militias by supplying them with weapons and military equipment.
