Abdullah Bin Musaed Sells Sheffield United for Around $131 Million

Prince Abdullah bin Musaed, the owner of the United World group, announced through his account on the platform X that he has sold his entire stake in the English club Sheffield United to C or H Bidco Limited Sports.
In his statement, Prince Abdullah bin Musaed said, “After long and difficult negotiations, we are pleased to announce that the United World group has completed the sale of Blades Leisure Limited, the parent company of Sheffield United Football Club, to C or *H Bidco Limited Sports… We wish the new owners every success in leading the club to the Premier League and beyond.”
He added, “Our relationship with the club began in 2013 when it was in a difficult position at the bottom of the second division. After six years, we took full ownership of the club and succeeded in gaining promotion to the Premier League for the first time during our tenure, finishing 9th in our first season in the Premier League. However, the second season was heavily impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to relegation. But by the end of the 2022-2023 season, we managed to return to the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi-final for the second time. Now, in the 2024-2025 season, we are once again at the top of the Championship table, four points away from automatic promotion, and preparing for Premier League promotion.”
He continued, “Despite the challenges the club has faced in recent years, we leave confident that the club is in its best shape. Our investments in the academy and young talents have paid off this season, with a team now averaging 23 years and 9 months old, filled with international players. Revenues have increased tenfold since we took over, and all real estate assets are now under the club’s umbrella. Additionally, we made significant investments in fixed assets. The hotel was completely renovated and is now managed by Hilton. After long efforts, we succeeded in purchasing the Catlers Corner and Boundary Corner land, which means the club owns all the assets of Bramall Lane stadium. The club has also purchased a new training center in the prestigious Dore area of Sheffield. This center includes a new building for the first team, four full-size pitches, as well as smaller pitches and other facilities. This move will enable the academy to qualify for the first-tier classification, which is a significant achievement for the club’s future.”
He concluded his statement, “We leave with mixed emotions. While there are some things we won’t miss, we will miss the wonderful staff who worked tirelessly to ensure things ran smoothly and provided a safe environment for the fans. We will miss the coaches who supported us, challenged us, and helped us build strong teams. We will also miss the players who gave us unforgettable moments. But most of all, we will miss the fans. The club means nothing without its fans, and the greatness of Sheffield United lies in your loyalty and constant support.”
He finished by saying, “We leave extremely grateful for everything you have given us during these years. Thank you for opening the doors of your club to us… Onward, Sheffield United.”
With this sale, the era of Prince Abdullah bin Musaed, who bought the club in 2013 for £15 million, comes to an end. He took the club from the third division to the Premier League twice.
Prince Abdullah bin Musaed owns all the shares of the club, which he will sell to the American group that reached an agreement to buy the club in a deal reportedly worth £105 million, around $131.5 million.
