Sudan Events – Reports
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, held a joint press conference with Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embaló at the presidential palace in Bissau, attended by various media outlets.
Al-Burhan expressed his pleasure in visiting Guinea-Bissau, noting that he held official talks with President Sissoco, focusing on areas of mutual cooperation. He conveyed his appreciation for the president’s support and attention to Sudan’s issues and developments.
Al-Burhan highlighted that Sudan is facing a multi-faceted war, with the country being invaded by mercenaries and the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have destroyed state infrastructure and committed systematic crimes against the people. He stressed that the Sudanese people firmly reject negotiating or coexisting with the RSF, reaffirming their exclusion from Sudan’s future.
He further stated that Sudan’s relations with other nations will depend on their stance regarding the ongoing war, emphasizing that the conflict will not end until the RSF withdraws from civilian areas and external support—both political and military—stops. Al-Burhan praised the victories of the Sudanese Armed Forces across all fronts.
President Sissoco expressed understanding of Sudan’s position and pledged efforts to contribute to peace, security, and stability in Sudan. He reiterated his support for resolving African conflicts internally, utilizing the continent’s abundant resources, and resisting external interference.
Al-Burhan commended African leaders working toward internal resolutions and stressed the importance of countering insurgencies that destabilize the continent.
President Sissoco welcomed Al-Burhan, highlighting the historical ties between Sudan and Guinea-Bissau. He pledged his country’s readiness to assist in efforts to end the conflict in Sudan and achieve peace and stability.
