Juventus Strengthens Its Defense with Portuguese Costa… and Nears Moiné Deal

Italian football club Juventus officially announced on Wednesday its signing of Portuguese defender Alberto Costa, with the transfer of French international forward Randal Kolo Muani nearing completion. Kolo Muani arrived in Turin late this evening due to a flight issue.
According to Agence France-Presse, Juventus paid €12.5 million to acquire Costa (21 years old) from Vitória Guimarães, with the potential for the deal to rise to €15 million with bonuses.
Costa has signed a contract until June 2029 and will bolster Juventus’ defense, which was weakened by a serious injury to Brazilian Bremer in October, which ended his season.
The importance of signing Costa lies in the club’s future investment, as Juventus has been working for several years to rejuvenate its squad at a strong pace, similarly to its interest in signing French international striker Kolo Muani, whose move from Paris Saint-Germain was initially expected to be announced officially as a six-month loan with no option to buy on Wednesday. However, the announcement has been delayed until Thursday.
The former Nantes forward, who has not played much this season with PSG, arrived at Turin Airport around 7:30 PM, too late to undergo the routine medical check before signing his contract.
Kolo Muani (27 years old, 27 international caps, and 8 goals) will strengthen the attacking line of Juventus, which has heavily relied on the inconsistent Serbian Dušan Vlahović and has been without the services of international Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik for several months due to a knee injury.
