Here are some reactions to Trump’s inauguration for his second term as President of the United States:
European Union
European Union leaders expressed their best wishes to President Donald Trump on his second term as U.S. president.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa sent their best wishes in a post on X platform on Monday afternoon. They wrote, “The EU looks forward to working closely with you to face global challenges.”
The post included a call for the new administration to work closely with the EU, stating, “Together, our societies can achieve greater prosperity and enhance their common security. This is the enduring strength of the transatlantic partnership.”
Canada
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump on his inauguration today, Monday.
In a post on X platform, Trudeau wrote to Trump, “We have the opportunity to work together again to create more jobs and prosperity for our countries.”
Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Donald Trump on his inauguration as U.S. president, expressing hope that he could “achieve a fair and lasting peace” in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to Agence France-Presse.
Zelensky said in a message on X platform, “President Trump has always been decisive, and his declared policy of peace through strength offers an opportunity to enhance U.S. leadership and achieve a fair and lasting peace, which is our top priority.”
Russia
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated on Monday that Russia congratulates U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on taking office.
During a meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council, he said, “We congratulate the elected president of the United States on taking office,” and noted that “the pre-election period was difficult in every way for Trump, and he was under intense pressure,” according to Sputnik News Agency.
Putin added, “He and his family were constantly under severe pressure, and this even extended to assassination attempts.”
Trump had previously stated earlier this month that preparations were underway for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss the conflict in Ukraine, adding, “We need to end that war. It’s a bloody mess.”
Israel
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated U.S. President Donald Trump, emphasizing that the coming years would witness “the best days” of relations between the two countries.

Egypt
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated the new U.S. President Donald Trump on taking the oath of office, Monday, according to Reuters.

Lebanon
