The Minister of Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sea Ports Authority, Engineer Abu Bakr Abu Al-Qasim, said the Sea Ports Authority are ready to receive all types of ships.
During the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Sea Ports Authority today (Monday), under the slogan “The Sea Ports Authority provides support for the post-war phase,” he stressed that there are no ships in waiting mode, which indicates that the ports have cooperative administrative and technical staff, he said.
Al-Qasim said in a press statement: “We held a fruitful meeting in which many issues were discussed, including issues related to facilitating the movement of exports and imports through Sudanese ports and the ongoing development and modernization processes to keep pace with developments in the global trade movement and the maritime transport industry in the areas of ports.”
He added, “In this regard, we discussed how to make the most of it” of the new ports in Hedoub and Osif.”
He further noted that the meeting discussed how to raise performance vertically in the next stage, and the steps that will be taken to reach the final capacity in the business cycle.” Al-Qasim said
He added, “We are working seriously with the relevant authorities to operate our cruises to the city of Jeddah and other countries through the Marine Cruise Lines Company.”
He explained, “We reviewed the agreement signed between the Sea Ports Authority and the Marine Lines Company, which included the two parties’ efforts to provide maritime transport services in its various forms and find the necessary funding for them.”
