Minister of Finance Sets Work Directives for the Ministry

Minister of Finance Dr. Jibril Ibrahim outlined the ministry’s directives for the current phase, emphasizing the importance of maintaining responsibility for managing state affairs, funding the war effort in the “Battle of Dignity,” ensuring continued production, rebuilding war-affected states, enabling the return of citizens to their homes, and enforcing laws and regulations that safeguard public funds.
In a broad meeting with the ministry’s undersecretary and general directors on Monday, the minister stressed the Ministry of Finance’s leadership role in implementing digital transformation, staying current with technological developments, and localizing global tech systems and financial laws to align with national economic requirements. This alignment aims to give Sudan the flexibility needed to deal with international financing institutions to support reconstruction and sustainable development.
Undersecretary Abdullah Ibrahim revealed that all financial obligations have been met since the beginning of the fiscal year, focusing on priorities such as the war effort, employee compensations, pension entitlements, and essential service sectors. He highlighted the importance of leveraging private-sector partnerships for reconstruction and sustainable peace-building projects, asserting that the ministry’s performance is reassuring and aligned with planned targets.
Department heads also presented detailed performance reports, current challenges, and proposed solutions.
