Sudan’s General Intelligence Service in Nile State seized six tons of copper smuggled from Khartoum and large quantities of weapons and ammunition, including 30,000 rounds of Kalashnikov bullets and four boxes of grenades, along with drugs and analgesics.
The Governor of Nile State, Dr. Mohamed Al-Badawi Abdel Majid, inspected the seizure alongside the state intelligence director, Major General Yasser Ali Bashir, praising the agency’s efforts to combat smuggling, which poses both security and economic threats.
The governor emphasized the agency’s role in protecting public resources and youth from the dangers of smuggling and drugs and announced rewards for the team responsible for the seizure.
