Khartoum state health authorities reported on Friday a decline in dengue fever cases for the third consecutive day across all seven localities, according to the daily epidemiological report on dengue and cumulative monitoring since the disease’s emergence in the state.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Tijani, Director of the General Administration of Emergency and Epidemic Control, attributed the decrease to urgent interventions and significant efforts at the locality level and within the local health system, including malaria, health promotion, environmental health, laboratory, and blood bank departments, under the supervision of Dr. Fath El-Rahman Mohamed Al-Amin, Director-General of Khartoum State Ministry of Health.
Al-Tijani told the Khartoum Health Media Office that the third consecutive day of declining dengue cases underscores the need for continued coordination and preventive interventions, early detection, case monitoring, and treatment. He highlighted that, through joint efforts, Khartoum could soon be declared free of dengue, referencing the recent declaration of the state as cholera-free after cases fell to zero.
