Sudanese Sovereignty Council member and Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces Yasir Al-Atta renewed accusations against the UAE for supporting and funding RSF forces, which have been fighting the army for over two years. He claimed that Abu Dhabi planned for Sudan to become a center of conflict in Africa to exploit its resources.
Speaking to military personnel in Khartoum, Al-Atta said the UAE launched a war on Sudan in April 2023, carrying out destruction and killings to terrorize regions where they are absent and force residents to flee. He added that the goal of the current war is to expel Sudanese citizens and plunder their resources, with a plan dating back to 2017 that extends to Libya, Chad, South Sudan, and Niger, with attempts to destabilize Algeria.
Al-Atta accused UAE officials of funding mercenaries from West Africa, purchasing weapons, influencing international organizations, and buying the loyalty of certain leaders with money from Mohammed bin Zayed and his brothers.
He pledged that the Sudanese Armed Forces are ready for the next battle against the RSF and vowed to defeat the “Janjaweed” and expel them from Kordofan and Darfur, citing faith and capabilities. Al-Atta emphasized that while they are not warmongers, the ongoing atrocities motivate a rapid and courageous military response, aiming for peace as the ultimate goal.
