Sudan Condemns Attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain, Supports Measures to Protect Their Sovereignty

Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday condemned the attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, affirming Sudan’s support for any measures the two countries may take to safeguard their sovereignty.

Kuwait International Airport was reportedly targeted in what was described as the second attack of its kind within less than a week. Sites in Bahrain also came under attack, while Iran announced that it had targeted U.S. military bases following American strikes on Iranian radar installations on Qeshm Island.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it “strongly condemns and denounces the attacks and assaults targeting Kuwait and Bahrain, which constitute an unacceptable violation of their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.”

The ministry stressed that Kuwait and Bahrain have the legitimate right to take all necessary measures to protect their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in accordance with international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The statement noted that the attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait represent a clear violation of the principles of international law and the UN Charter, and pose a direct threat to the security and stability of the two countries and the wider region.

It added that such attacks undermine regional and international efforts aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further escalation and conflict in the region.

Sudan reaffirmed its solidarity with both countries in confronting any threats to their security and sovereignty.

The Foreign Ministry also reiterated Khartoum’s rejection of any hostile acts targeting civilians, vital facilities, or the security and stability of states.
